After seven and a half years of dedicated service, we acknowledge the significant contribution of Sarah, who has resigned from her role as Drop-in Centre Coordinator with Elevate CDT. She is greatly missed by staff, volunteers, and all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.
During her time with Elevate, Sarah has been known for her creativity, deep care for others, strong teaching ability, and exceptional communication skills. She has also had a remarkable gift for thinking on her feet and problem-solving in the moment, helping the Centre respond with wisdom, warmth, and practicality in everyday situations.
Above all, Sarah is remembered as kind-hearted, generous, and deeply loved by her colleagues. Her presence has shaped the life of the Centre in meaningful ways, and her impact continues in the relationships she has built and the culture she has helped nurture.
“Sarah’s thoughtful planning of content was just one of the many ways that she showed the deep compassion and care she had for people. Considering how each person in the programme would engage with the content she planned. Such a lovely outworking of our values of Respect and Welcome!” - Kirsty Armitage, Director
Sarah also wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who have supported her throughout the years. She shared that she simply could not have done the role without them, and she is deeply grateful for their commitment, encouragement, and partnership in the work.
We thank Sarah for her faithful service and wish her every blessing in the next chapter ahead. She will be greatly missed, but her contribution remains an important part of Elevate’s story.
Welcoming Mitchell as Centre Programme Facilitator
We are pleased to welcome Mitchell, who joined Elevate CDT in 2026 as the Centre Programme Facilitator, stepping into the role previously held by Sarah.
Mitchell brings a rich and varied background to the role. Prior to joining Elevate, he worked as both a Hospital Chaplain and Church Pastor, bringing experience in pastoral care, leadership, and supporting people through a wide range of life circumstances.
He is married to Julie, and together they are part-time stay-at-home parents to their two school-aged boys. The family is based in Mount Wellington, Auckland.
Mitchell is also no stranger to Elevate’s community. He has been attending Elevate Camps since 2011, and volunteered at the Centre from 2012–2014, where he was involved in the Centre programme, library, and the recording and distribution of the audio version of The Encourager magazine.
We are delighted to welcome Mitchell into this role and look forward to the experience, care, and continuity he brings as he steps into this next season of service at Elevate CDT.
