“Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9
Am I the only one to ask the question where has this term gone? The weeks have flown by, we have just passed the shortest day of the year on 21st June, meaning the daylight hours will start to lengthen.
Aren’t you grateful that no matter what season you find yourself in, you can be sure God is not absent from it – He is always there.
Reflecting over the past 9 weeks in the Drop- in centre, we’ve had a full and fun program.
Here are a few of the highlights:
The first week back we were blessed over two days with visits from the students at Equippers Bible College. They shared their testimony and what God was doing in their lives. We worshiped and sung together. Afterwards the students got stuck into tidying around the grounds.
We also had a visit from Judah Linton and his family. This young man has faced adversity throughout his life and yet he radiates the joy of the Lord. Judah is passionate about sharing his faith. They have recently been travelling throughout NZ sharing Judah’s testimony.
We have welcomed several new attendees this term to the program which is awesome.
During the term we have talked about – perseverance, running the race, the Holy Spirit, ants, spiders, to name just a few topics.
We had group discussions around Disability Awareness Sunday.
Last week we celebrated Volunteer week with a thank you morning tea for our amazing helpers. They are Gods hands and feet coming into the centre week in week out, year in year out. We are so blessed to have them.
This week being the last week of the term we had a big selection of table games – puzzles, board games, cards, to name a few. The atmosphere got quite competitive at times! We certainly had lots of laughs and fun together.
“Therefore encourage one another, and let each one help to strengthen his friend, as in fact you do.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
