God in Every Season: We will Raise Again
By Amanda Barclay (with help from Faye Angelo)
When Lazarus died and Jesus came to Mary (paraphrase),
He said to her, “Your brother will rise again”. Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:23-25 (NIV)

Amanda sits on a chair at the front of a church, smiling as she speaks into a microphone.
This shows that we need to trust in God above everything else, because He is risen, He lives, He is the resurrection and the life. He helps us rise above our problems both now and forever.
I have been to some funerals of people who believed other things, like new age, or reincarnation. But there was no hope for an afterlife just a shell of a person.
God is our future and our present. He gives a hope and a future; eternal life. But right now, he gives us life in abundance.
For me this means I am privileged. I remember when I was a child staying with my Grandma and grandad. I heard grandma praying in her Scottish accent, ” I want me granddaughter to be a born again Christian”. So now at the age of 62 I am still holding on to Jesus. He helps me overcome my difficulties. When I am down I read scriptures and pray; He helps me rise again. I am not down for long!! Like last week I heard of a gun incident, and stayed home. I listened to praise songs and the scriptures and prayed. I chose to rise up and carry on. Like Joseph, bad can become good and cause us to rise up over our problems.
He is our resurrection and our life. He causes us to rise up and to be overcomers now, and forever. Do you believe this?
