Expressions of Interest for Volunteers with the Soul Lounge Festival One – Open Now!

Have you heard rumblings of a big summer festival from your youth group, friends, or your Church? Festival One 2026 is fast approaching. Festival One is an organisation and event that Elevate is thrilled to be partnering with for the third year in a row, to collaboratively deliver the Soul Lounge: a space within Festival that helps to support festival-goers with disabilities or who have access needs throughout the four-day event.

Elevate is on the look-out for people who would like to express their interest in volunteering at the Soul Lounge Festival One 2026. Hear from Steve C, about his experience volunteering last year:

Volunteering at Soul Lounge ‘25 showed me the wonderful world of supporting and helping extraordinary people enjoy Festival One.  It took me years to get there but it did not disappoint!  Being with and helping the beautiful and courageous people helped me to see with different eyes.  Through the different facilities provided, a wheelchair became a dance tool, and an accessible stage became a platform where worship was unashamedly expressed.  In volunteering @Soul Lounge I saw exclusion become inclusion and belonging, barriers became pathways, inabilities became the unique ability to join in the shared life and light of this community.

Steve C and an old friend who was also volunteering at Festival One volunteering re-connected after a long time not seeing each other.

If this is something that interests you, find out more by sending Jacqui Sua an email at soullounge@festival.one. She’ll connect with you and see where we may be able to fit your strengths and gifts.

And in-case you’re new to Elevate, volunteering and leadership positions are open to people with disabilities, the able-bodied, those who are neurotypical and those who are neurodivergent. The team will support you to lead and contribute in your role whoever you are, as best we are able.
