We would like to acknowledge and thank Community Organisation Grant Scheme (COGS) for their support and sponsorship of this camp, so the fees can be kept at below the actual camp cost of $160.00 per person.

Our theme this year for camp is “The plans I have for you”.

Our speaker Mitchell Aiken will be leading us through this topic.

Mitchell Aiken became involved with disability ministry while he was suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a condition that he had for more than sixteen years. Upon recovery, he trained for ministry and is currently serving as an Associate Pastor at Mount Wellington Community Church in Auckland. Come and hear about how he has seen the plan for his life come together, and how we can all find a greater plan for our lives.

We will have our usual fun Saturday afternoon activities, as well as a chance to simply rest and relax.

Campers with a disability: This camp is for you!

We will pair you up with a buddy to provide friendship, care and support for camp.

Personal Care: Some campers require a high level of personal care and if possible, please bring your own support person. This ensures your care continues at the high level you are familiar with. We will try to provide an additional buddy/carer to assist over the weekend.

Helpers: For those who are coming as helpers, we welcome you with open arms! There will be time set aside on Friday evening to train you how to help your buddies. You will be fully supported all weekend by your cabin leader, the camp committee and an on-site nurse. We cannot stress enough how much we value and need our helpers.

We cannot hold our camp without you.

We do ask that first-time helpers complete a police check form to protect our more vulnerable campers.

Children and Teenagers: This camp is for people of ALL ages, and therefore children with physical disabilities are more than welcome! We will be running a children’s programme during the weekend if required. Please note that we will carefully select buddies who will work with children. There will be late nights, with an afternoon sleep on Saturday. You are welcome to come as a family, and we ask that you please call or text Viv Riddell on (021) 294 0320 to discuss this.
