What is Disability Awareness Sunday?
Disability Awareness Sunday (D.A.S) is the third Sunday in June each year. This year, D.A.S is Sunday, the 21 June 2026. It is a day where Churches are invited to dedicate their service to an important message:
Christian communities need to be places for people with disabilities to grow in their faith, have opportunities to lead and to contribute.
What can my Church do to celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday?
- Churches often choose to have a speaker with a disability share a message with their congregation.
- Or a Church may choose to play a video resource by Elevate during their service.
- Other Churches may prefer to perform a drama or recital that carries the message of Disability Awareness Sunday.

D.A.S Resources 2026
We have two resources for D.A.S 2026 available centered on the theme of 'Welcome'. The word 'Welcome' encompasses how we speak to people and treat people. It is our effort to greet someone and get to know them, to help them feel wanted, safe, and that they belong.
