Find God’s Peace this Christmas

By Sarah Houston

Happy Christmas Everyone

Luke 2:14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Many of you may be sitting down very soon to write your annual Christmas newsletter to send out to friends and family, sharing all the news about the happenings in your life over this past year.

This year has been a difficult year for me, so with Christmas approaching fast, I’m reminded once again what ‘the real reason for this season is.’

It’s our Lord Jesus’s birth we are about to celebrate.

Among the blessings Jesus gives us are JOY, NEW LIFE, HOPE and PEACE.

What brings you peace? A beautiful sunrise or sunset, nature, or being with friends?

As Christians we can have a deep abiding peace in our lives even when we face challenging times with our health, a family bereavement, financial worries. World peace is at an all-time low!

There are several scriptures in the bible that tell us about Gods peace being available to us.

John 14:27 “I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn’t like the peace this world can give. So do not be worried or afraid.”

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”

Philippians 4:6,7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

I pray that you will experience God’s peace this Christmas and know without a doubt that God really loves you.
