Northland CFFD

Welcome to our land! North of the Kaipara Harbour, home of the Great Kauri Giants; a people strongly featuring in the traditional culture of this great nation.

Our region spans a vast area. It is 5 hours to drive from top to bottom and 1 hour to drive across. We have found it a challenge to cater for our contacts in all the different centres and so, base most of our fellowship meetings around Whangarei, with less frequent visits to the other areas.

We have 5 main events each year which are faith focused, fun and fellowship, with a strong Evangelistic content. Our purpose is to share our common faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and, to encourage and support each other in our special challenges as people with disabilities. We endeavour to extend love, compassion, understanding and acceptance of everybody’s uniqueness in Christ. Events include exploring places outdoors such as the Kauri Trounson Park, beaches, going for car rallies. We often run events from within a church building in Whangarei in which we like to seek ways for all to be able to express their God-given gifts and talents in a safe and caring environment.  

We have enjoyed coordinating many events in the past and look forward to lots more in the future. None of the events could have taken place without the help of so many volunteers. Each time we meet, we’re so grateful to those who come to help out, whether it is in providing transport, working in the kitchen, leading worship, speaking or performing – thank you so very much! 

Each year in October we love to take a team to the National Camp held over Labour Weekend at Matamata. We always love new people with disabilities or helpers to come along and enjoy this amazing experience. Please call us for more details. 

We enjoy bringing teams of our folk to lead services in various churches here in Whangarei and in the surrounding areas. We are keen to take teams into churches further afield, so, if you are interested in having us facilitate a part or a full service, give us a call. 

We are excited to see what God is doing in our province through the ministry He has called us to.
